State-of-the-art Facilities and a Range of Boarding Options
At Moon Rising Farm, we believe that horses are happiest when they’re allowed to be horses—that means grazing, hanging out with other horses, and being given room to run. All horses have unlimited, 24-hour access to grazing in large, vinyl-fenced fields.
What Sets Our Facilities Apart
- Time-saving technologies. The main (arena) barn was designed with innovative labor-saving technologies so staff can spend more time caring for horses and less time on chores. An underground manure-hauling system ferries manure from stalls to a compost pile—eliminating the need for wheelbarrows. Hay is stored above the stalls so it can simply be dropped down into the horses’ feeders when needed. Frost-free automatic waters in each stall mean fresh water is always available.
- 24-hour access to grazing. Over and over again, studies have shown that horses are healthiest when they can live outdoors and graze naturally. All horses at Moon Rising Farm have access to 24-hour grazing in safe vinyl-fenced fields. Herds are segregated by sex and temperament to ensure their safety.
- Indoor arena. A lighted, 80×200 indoor arena with dust-free footing is available 24 hours a day to all boarders. Boarders in the main (arena) barn can access the arena without going outdoors.
- Outdoor arena. A lighted, 80×150 outdoor arena with bluestone footing is also available 24 hours a day to all boarders.
- Miles of trails. Trails wind all around the 200 hilly acres of Moon Rising Farm. In addition, it’s only a short ride to access Black Hills Regional Park and its countless trails.
- Heated/air-conditioned lounge/observation area. Riders can relax in the climate-controlled lounge/observation area.
- Barns with spacious tack rooms, hot/cold water wash stalls, plenty of grooming stalls. All the amenities you expect to make your riding experience as convenient as possible.
